Stamped concrete is one of the most popular home remodeling trends in San Diego and we are proud to say that our stamped concrete is – for lack of a better word – simply awesome. For many years, there has been a lesser form of stamped concrete on the market which merely duplicated patterns and wasn’t that impressive. However, we are proud to offer our clients newer types of stamped concrete which impart textures that duplicate many different surfaces including brick, cobblestones, pavers, seashells, wood and many more. We also add pigment to the stamped concrete in order to further enhance the duplicated look of these patterns.

Schraner masonry was one of the first in San Diego to offer Stamped Concrete. The main reason you may consider stamped concrete is that while the bricks, cobbles and pavers may look great, they form a surface of many interlocking pieces thereby making these surfaces susceptible to frost-heave and other changes in the underlying surface. In some instances bricks, cobbles and pavers may be great for covering an uneven surface as they will conform to the surface. But if your undersurface is level and flat, you will want your concrete to be laid out in this same way. In order to tie the pavement together and strengthen it, we include reinforcing rods inside the stamped concrete.

Another benefit of our stamped concrete is that it will not allow weeds to grow up through cracks because it is a solid and continuous surface, unlike the bricks, cobbles and pavers. The cracks which are included in our stamped concrete surface are mere impressions that only go partially through the surface.
